After months of pressure, challenge, and community support, Fylde’s Executive Committee has now recommended a £9.3 million investment into swimming and leisure facilities across the borough.
For Kirkham residents, the result is clear: Kirkham Baths is set to reopen.
Following my decision to publicly challenge the closure and back residents through a local petition, the council has now moved forward with plans to fully refurbish the baths. This includes a new fitness suite, modern changing rooms, and long-term security for a facility that means a great deal to the town.
St Annes Pool will also receive significant upgrades as part of the wider investment programme.
This didn’t happen by accident. It followed sustained pressure, calling the issue out, and clear local backing. I want to sincerely thank the 100+ residents who signed the petition — your support helped force this issue back onto the agenda, and it worked.
