I’m Joel Tetlow, a Reform UK councillor for Accrington North and the Director of Renewable Energy Consultants Ltd. My work sits at the intersection of scrutiny, strategy, and straight-talking accountability. Whether I’m challenging weak arguments in the council chamber or navigating complex regulatory issues in business, I’m driven by clarity, fairness, and evidence.
I’ve built a reputation for cutting through the noise. I don’t do vague answers, political theatre, or box ticking. I focus on facts, procedure, and honest conversation. When something doesn’t add up, I dig until it does. When people try to shift blame or hide behind ambiguity, I call it out.
Everything I’ve learned through business, public service, and the challenges life has thrown at me I now use to help the people of Lancashire and the voters who put me here. Without them, we are nothing. That responsibility keeps me grounded and focused on delivering real outcomes, not empty promises.
In local government, my priority is simple: transparent decision-making, proper scrutiny, and reform that genuinely improves people’s lives. I believe residents deserve to know exactly what’s happening, why it’s happening, and who is responsible for the outcomes.
I bring the same discipline to my business, specialising in research-driven advice, dispute handling, and protecting the interests of my company. My journey hasn’t been straightforward, and I don’t pretend otherwise. The challenges I’ve faced, personally and professionally, have shaped the way I work today: methodical, resilient, and unafraid to speak plainly.
I’m currently working on a memoir to tell that story with the honesty it deserves. If you’re here to understand who I am, the answer is simple: I’m someone who believes in accountability, evidence, and doing things properly — and I’m committed to bringing that approach to every role I take on.
