It was a great honour to be elected as one of the new Reform UK County Councillors in May 2025. I am a first-time politician, stepping up because this country desperately needs change. While I may not have prior political experience, I bring a wealth of real-world experience — something often lacking in senior politicians today.
I was initially trained as a Merchant Navy Navigating Officer at Fleetwood Nautical College and served in what was then the largest Merchant Navy in the world. This was followed by over 30 years in manufacturing operations management, rising to European Operations Director level.
In semi-retirement, my wife and I ran our own independent retail business in the Yorkshire Dales, where I also founded a local B4RN community broadband project. Our home is now in Skerton, an area with incredible potential that has, unfortunately, suffered from decades of political neglect.
