Biography

Rick was born and raised in Manchester before moving to the Lancashire area in the mid-1970s. He has lived in Burscough since 2007, after meeting and marrying his wife, Carol, a farmer’s daughter from Halsall. Both are passionate about animals and currently share their home with five rescued cats.

A highly qualified engineer, Rick has spent much of his life running small to medium-sized businesses, including his own micro car manufacturing company, which established agencies in both America and Japan. The company was featured on the BBC Top Gear program and represented Great Britain at the motor show in Japan by invitation of the British Embassy.

Rick is also passionate about motorcycles and has been riding since the age of three. If you are a fan of live music and think he looks familiar, it may be because he has been playing in bands since his school days and currently fronts the band Best Kept Secret.
