County Councillor Ella Worthington recently had the pleasure of visiting Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic High School in Skelmersdale to plant a tree as part of the school’s fantastic Live Simply Project.
The school has already planted an impressive 200 trees, generously funded by the Woodland Trust. This work is making a real difference by caring for the environment, boosting biodiversity and helping to reduce flooding on the school fields, improving conditions for sports and outdoor activity.
This is truly inspiring work by both students and staff.
During the visit, the Head Teacher, Mrs Henshaw, Assistant Head Teacher, Mrs Witter, the school Chaplain and Year 11 students delivered an engaging, informative and thoughtful presentation, highlighting the commitment and care behind the project.

County Councillor Ella Worthington said:
“This is a fantastic and worthwhile initiative for the school, and it was clear that both pupils and staff genuinely care about the environment. I felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Thank you all.”
